Ao vivo! | Live!

*For the English version, please scroll down*
Coisas deste tipo, ‘tão a ver? ;)
Definitivamente a repetir! ♥

There is no doubt that showcasing our work through the internet, either through facebook or a blog, an etsy shop, etc, allows us to reach people from different places, cultures, languages, and styles. I began noticing this as I see the statistics which are provided by all these virtual gadgetries. There is a lot of interaction and the opinions I've received have been constructive, given that they are just virtual opinions. That is, with the exceptions of friends who have seen all this “live”, or those who have had the opportunity of buying one of my bags, I get all feedback through a computer (or mobile phone) based on things I write or pictures I post. But something’s missing here... For example, to see someone I don’t know holding one of my bags, asking me things, saying what they think, face-to-face! Things like "I like it, I don’t like it, you should do it this way, or that way!" ;)
So on Saturday I had the chance to showcase my stuff at Cine Incrível in Almada, as there was going to be a concert there that night, promoted by us. So I bought protective paper, packed a few bags, printed business cards and tags, and off I went!
And it is really something to see the people’s expression, some certainly liked what they were seeing, others were intrigued or surprised, and of course there were also the indifferent that, luckily, were just a few. During the pre-concert I spoke to everyone who approached my stall. So I basically didn’t stop, I was for 2 hours with the “shopkeeper” mode on! I missed that :)
And there is nothing like the human touch in these things - but it requires a lot of time and presence, and the ratio of people affected/time spent is, in most cases, lower than in the virtual world...
Nevertheless, I love dialogues, opinions and smiles live. Let's say that the profit was not exceptional - I had only one custom order, but for a début, 2-h display I was really satisfied!
